Wow, seems that a lot of the heavy hitters waited till the end. I wondered what the fantastically artistic minds of the Deacon, SpyderNut, jabba, LC, and gbelleh would bring us this you. You guys always set the standard for these calendars, thanks for sharing with us. It's nice just to be in your company. This is going to be a great calendar.

If I'm not mistaken, Lance hasn't submitted one yet?

Spyderco Military is chosen simply because it is one of Spyderco flagship models. Hopefully, the smoke around Military and matched black/red theme show how majestic it is with all the efforts from Spyderco crews.

I decided to photograph some knives that sparked my interest in Spyderco. The Triangle Sharpmaker and Duckfoot sharpeners made it easy to sharpen unique blade shapes and serrated edges. My Dodo Carbon Fiber, Cricket, Lil'Matriarch, P'Kal, and gray Endura with a gray clip I modified are good examples of the variety of blade shapes that can be sharpened on these outstanding tools.

The Spyderco Military the ultimate all rounder, tough enough to handle the demands of military service yet sophisticated enough to excel in urban day to day tasks. With nearly 2 decades of production the basic design has changed very little, this model is truly a cornerstone in the Spyderco line-up.

Spyderco Endura perhaps one of the most popular folding knives in the world. It is available at a price, with a very high quality, functional and suitable for almost any job in almost any environment.

Model: C11FPGYE Delica Superblue sprint run

Partners in steel. Here the Delica 4 sits atop three bare alloy steel weightlifting bars. Like the Superblue knife blade, they've developed a nice patina throughout their years of faithful service. They also have their own "jimping" in the form of knurling, for a secure grip. The circular form factor, as well as the weights in the background, echo the trademark opening hole.

Whoops. Almost missed this!

PayneTrain - Harpy

This is my favorite photo from this year. I was hiking with my dog one day at our usual spot, and the saying was running through my head when I realized her knives and my knife were very similar, so I put them together and voila. I just like how muted it looks, how the all-stainless Harpy stands out against her black fur, and the ghosting from the evening sun added a nice touch. It didn't win the weekly contest, but I still love it!

Here is the full color spectrum of the Ladybug 1.
I have always been a fan of the Ladybug model and have acquired my fair share of these awesome little big knives.
I nearly always have one on me regardless of any other knife I might carry.

Spyderco Endura 4 in ZDP-189, VG-10, and Aogami Super Blue.

With Spyderco Seki City knives already available in three great super steels and a fourth on the schedule, somehow the Blue Willow legend came to mind.
