New Facility in Golden, Any Updates?

#1

Post by Johnnie1801 »

Just wondering if anyone has any news on the new facility in Golden? Also I was wondering if it will have all brand new equipment/tools and if Spyderco will be hiring more staff? Does Spyderco offer some type of apprentice scheme?

If anyone is passing by during their lunch hour (cough cough BFK :p) could you try and take a couple of phone pics? :)

Here is a nice article about the new opening:

http://www.businessden.com/2015/05/11/k ... w-factory/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Great picture of the Glessers and I especially liked this part of the article:

" For the ribbon cutting on his new knife factory, a Golden business owner traded the giant scissors for one of his own Spyderco knives."

All the best Sal with the new facility :)

Thx SEF, great little article :)

I guess all that remains is to find out which knife Sal used to cut that ribbon, Military maybe? :D

Probably a prototype. ;)

I suppose I could snap a couple pics when I head over there again but i would say just watch the Spyderbyte. I would expect some news or pics to be shared at some point.

I like how it says "a golden business owner." It's as if the guy who owns the 7-Eleven down the street snuck in and traded a knife for the scissors. (AKA a flipper got it just so he could resell it back to Sal at a higher price. :D )

Thanks for posting the news release, SEF. :) Nice little write-up and picture too. Sal and Gail look especially happy. Congrats on the new building Sal, Gail, Eric and the Spyderco Crew! :)

I wonder if factory tours might be offered at some point. Wouldn't that be cool?

I don't get around here to read or post much nowadays, but saw this announcement and wanted to send my congratulations to the Glessers and everyone at Spyderco.

They need to start putting Golden tickets in with the knives or should that be tickets to Golden :D

Yes!!! Now we're talking! :D Maybe they can call it the Golden Ticket to Golden. Maybe it could include lunch with Sal, Gail, and Eric. Maybe even a free Delica... Whew! That would be sweet! :)

Thanks for that link.

Haha, yeah I was wondering what knife Sal used to cut the ribbon as well! They carefully hid his hand behind the ribbon to leave the knife in question (and probabaly lower risk of appearing threatening?)

Congrats to Spyderco!

That would be a cool company to work for. :spyder:

I came across the article yesterday, great to hear they've got the opportunity and manpower to expand the company. Not bad for a company that started out of a bread truck! :D Congratulations to the Glessers and their staff!

Just a normal Military? Not a prototype "cliptool with scissors" Military? :p

Thank you, sir. I suppose I should start reading more instead of just looking at all the pretty pictures. ;) :D
