Lest we forget...

#1

Post by Surfingringo »

With all the squabbling and turmoil we have seen lately I thought it would be good to post this so we don't forget what great people we have in this forum. Last week I was contacted by one of the members here. They explained to me that they had experienced some very positive events in their life of late and wanted to express their gratitude by making a gift to a fellow member. Not sure why I was chosen but who am I to stand in the way of a friends expression of gratitude?! :p I was told to choose any Spyderco knife that I didn't own but would like. No restrictions, just choose something that would bring me joy. How about that? Just a simple act of kindness and generosity made without expectations or conditions. I chose the dog tag folder. Mainly because I have too many pocket knives as it is and I wanted something that I would carry daily. I have this thing around my neck all the time now as a reminder of what an amazing community we are all part of here.

A great story! It is always refreshing to hear of things like this.

I have dabbled in many forums for a variety of different hobbies of mine. This is by far the best forum to be a part of, with the greatest conversation to boot.

A kind and powerful counterpoint to the slings and arrows too often loosed in life. And a "well done, shipmate!" to the thoughtful person who did this. Made my day!

Very nice Lance, kudos to the giver and their spirit of generosity. Despite the squabble of late, there is always balance to the force...

P.S. I would have sent you some sunscreen personally ;)

Lance, that is a great and thoughtful gesture and well deserved. I think I can speak for all here that we appreciate your hands on real world actual testing and use of Spyderco knives. You work with them in conditions more severe than most and give honest straight forward reporting on performance. Also enjoy your fishing reports and photos. Phil
