As the title says, the Sh*t Hits The Fan, you have 5seconds to grab a blade... what do you grab? brand and size make no difference here, but 5seconds to think and grab *1* blade.

I would grab a Bowie if I could have only one blade, since a Bowie can chop, slash, stab, skin, split wood, be used as a drawknife, and so many other tasks. My only true Bowie at this time is an Ontario ****'s Belle, and it stays within two steps of the bed. This is assuming the oatmeal hits the fan at home, of course. I do not carry such large blades as EDC. My Gunting goes with me virtually everywhere.

Ka-Bar USMC. Tough little knife, and a quite effective chopper for its size. Large enough to do big knife tasks well, small enough to still slice efficiently.

Never underestimate the impossible.

5 seconds to choose any knife for any situation big or small ? Then if I had one I would go with the Busse Steel Heart.

If it was only from the knives I currently own then without doubt it would be the PE Military.

Walk softly, carry a big stick.

IF I'm at home when the SHTF, first of all, I'd grab my Glock 10mm model 20. As for a knife, it would be my SOG Tigershark Bowie.

If I'm "on the road" when the SHTF, it would be the Spyderco serrated G-10 Police model that I carry at all time, (AND my Glock .40 model 27 that I also carry all the time.).

now, are we talking combat SHTF? or utility SHTF? if it's combat (i'm rethinking my previous post <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> ) i'm goin for the SE millie. if it's utility, probably a <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> hawk. unfortunately i don't own either. am waiting for <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>co to send to my knife obtaining venues (Cutlery Shoppe and Glasshartt). <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> oh well, patience is a virtue. take care all
