My 2 are pretty much perfect. But didn't spend too much time looking at every possible detail. Happens every time. Newbies order a production knife that happens to be an exclusive, open the box expecting a custom. Put it under a microscope and a small % are not 100% perfect. Just like any other production product.

Unfortunately I received one of the not so nice versions. The CF is cracked near the back of the comp lock. Hair keeps getting snagged in there. Also there are chunks missing near the lanyard hole. Not a huge deal, but kind of a disappointment. The knife seems like it functions fine though, so that's good. It's still a beautiful knife and I'm happy to have it.

I noticed that too. No, it's just a weirdly formed piece. The other scale is almost perfect.

When Spyderco releases the sprint CF 52100 PM2 I'll be able to pick one in person, so I'm not too upset about this one.

Bummer LC, I think I would send it back if it were mine, and quick like before they sell out. Those are some pretty big chunks missing around the lanyard hole.

Just got home, guess I got lucky, the one I received doesn't appear to have any boo-boo's, I really like how lite CF is and grippy.

I don't think wanting properly drilled out pocket clip holes is an expectation that should be reserved for customs.

Its a symptom of production knives. Am sure most are close to perfect. Sounds like yours isnt.
Its not like you cant send it back to KW or Spyderco. Most would just take care of it that way. Rather than scaring everyone
or condemning an entire run.

I've been around for more than a few of these types of exclusives and I will say that I'm hearing/seeing a lot more people with issues than usual. It's entirely possible that this was a bad batch.

That said, you are absolutely correct, people can simply send them back. And those people are free to feel annoyed with having to ship stuff back and hope and wait that the one they get back is better.
