I ask only because the early pics of the lockup of the Native 5 (with black G10) showed very poor lock engagement in my opinion. See pic below (not mine, taken by one of our own "Tally-Ho").
I am hoping that CQI has given the Native 5 good lockup.
Been away for a while. Good to be back. :)
Does anyone have any pics of the Native 5 Lightweight Lockup?

I took a look at the 3 I still have. G-10, S110V carbon, and an S35VN LW and the lock doesn't appear to be much different.
That said, I've never had anything but a solid lockup on any Native 5. Always better than most of my Endura/Delica lockups.
Looks (to me) that the Native lock was designed to drop in more as it wears as long as it hasn't been slipped excessively to wear the mating surfaces rounding them off.
I will agree though, there doesn't look like a lot of engagement there.

Is the Native 5 lightweight screw construction so this is somewhat possible?
Looking at google, it has a funny lockbar pivot that doesn't have screws.

I haven't heard a common complaint of lock failures with a variety of ELU's. I expect it would perform to the likes of any FRN linerless Spyderco lockback.
Maybe that's just vague optimism but it's something. :)

Correct. All screws except for a pinned lock bar.Donut wrote:Is the Native 5 lightweight screw construction so this is somewhat possible?
