That is crazy. I wonder if the old white and blue boxes would sell well too. :p

If I could sell all my boxes for $5 each I could buy a few Spydies. Crazy!

Meh, as long as it's completely clear that he's selling the box only I'm cool with it. If it irked me not to have the vintage box for an old spydie of mine I'd be pretty thrilled to find the exact one I needed for 12 bucks.

IMHO e-bay is much more for selling things that buying them. When my son was in middle and high school and in the need of money, he was selling anything, what we and he didn't need: old DVDs, computer games and all other junk. He treated it like internet tag sale. And now even better, e-bay doesn't charge, unless it sold.

What amazes me is not that there is a seller, but that there are buyers.

I guess there are folks that gotta have these.

More power to him I guess. There's a buyer out there for most anything on the bay.

There are a lot of people out there who have no box or theirs is damaged, I would assume (especially collectors). Otherwise, it would be weird to buy an empty box. But, I also am reminded how things like empty cereal boxes from the past, candy boxes, toy boxes, and more sell for mega bucks to collectors.

*looks at pile of 50 Spyderco boxes*
So at about a £10 each shipped, there's £500 potentially in cardboard in my spare bedroom.

Just don't tell the wife, that's all I'm going to say :D

Ha! Wow. I have seen the boxes for limited edition fountain pens go for closer to $300...for JUST the box!

I have been contemplating parting with my spydie boxes, but it would be in a 'who needs a box for the models I have' way, not in a money making way.

Now while I have no issue with the boxes, I just saw a listing for the 2015 Product Guide for $19.99 (or best offer)!

I asked the question: "Are you aware these are available for free from Spyderco?" But there is a huge amount of whitespace between the listing description and the question box, likely to limit the efficacy of the tactic I employed to educate potential buyers.
