Rookie and Standard....Same?

#1

Post by sbrown »

Greetings...

I am somewhat new to spyderco knives and have what may be a dumb question... but here it is... Is a spyderco rookie and a spyderco standard the same knife? I owned a plain edge standard and lost it... I am looking for a replacement. thanks.

Nope. The rookie has a swedge at the top of the blade like the police. The standard if I recall is like the delcia. The standard is also bigger than the rookie

First, welcome aboard and enjoy the Forum.
There is quite a difference between the Standard and the Rookie. The Rookie is a scaled down Police while the Standard is a hybrid between the Delica and the Worker. Worker G-10 scales and Delica shaped blade.
Both are discontinued models <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> but still apear now and then on Ebay.
