Anyone see the spyderco autonomy at shot?

#1

Post by guitarwolf »

Announced in 2012, It was supposed to release last summer, then fall, then pushed back to "end of the year", then "winter". It's almost February and I haven't seen an update in months. The coast guard version shipped out last year (still haven't seen a pic of it).

Is this the longest a spyderco knife has been in production without being released?

I really want this knife for SAR.

I saw it at Blade show in 2012 does that count? :D
It is one that I have been waiting on for a few years as well, and since we can carry Autos in Texas now...........

Guitarwolf, I just talked with one of guys about the Coast Guard version. It is still in T&E stages with a select group of swimmers and not in full release to the whole community yet. He said that he is going to make a call and get some pictures for me. If he is able to, I will share them. He just put in his retirement letter so hopefully it happens before he sets sail. ;)

Excellent news, thanks for the update! I have a feeling that the wait is going to be even more excruciating after we see those coast guard pics :)

Sal is such a tease.
Current favorite: Manix 2 with carbon fiber scales and cru-ware.

Excellent, can't wait to try it out. I bet this will be a very popular model. In fact I should probably set up a pre-order! Thanks

Guitarwolf,

My buddy sent me a picture of one of the CG Rescue Swimmer knives that is out in the fleet. It isn't the best picture but I thought you might enjoy it.

That is one fantastic looking knife right there! Too bad it won't be a regular production variation. :(

Wow it looks amazing in orange g10 and uncoated H1! Look how big the deployment button is. I love it.
