You mean on purpose?

I have tested it out to make sure it was functional on one or two of my HEST Folders. It helps the lock stay engaged. I'm not sure if it improves on the lock outside of that.

I have had it engage once or twice on accident. I remember reading that there is a small screw in the center of it that you might need to tighten if it engages frequently.

Best. Mod. Ever. Totally saves this knife.
That's what I hear! ;)

Mine keeps going strong, no issues to speak of save for a new set of small, shiny clip wear marks on the handle. I'm curious what taking a ultra-fine grit sandpaper would do to the finish of the Slysz Bowie...

Next was another piece toward completing my Ed Schempp Spyderco collection. The SS Balance is a small, but useful and versatile knife. But I prefer the CF version for the additional grip its added width offers. The CF Balance provides a very secure grip for excellent leverage and control. The SS model is a bit more difficult to control, though it is a bit thinner in a pocket.

Knife # 203 - February 2015.

Hmm, I probably need to work on trading someone for a SS Balance. Thanks for reminding me.

I'm not a fan of SS handles, but that's one that I could make a replacement front scale for pretty easily. Maybe I should get one to go with my CF version.

The CF is what I'm hunting right now, they sure are hard to find for a decent price, really wish I could find one.

Next was another Schempp design, the Bowie. This one surpassed my expectations as far as ergonomics, and usefulness as an EDC. I happily carried and used the Schempp Bowie every single day for about three months with no complaints. This is my favorite Schempp Spyderco to date, and has a solid place in my EDC rotation.

Next was this Plain Edge USN Hawkbill Ladybug. I like the lime green FRN and black blade combination.

Along with the PE USN Ladybug, I also got the SE version. I swapped the black hawkbill blade into my orange H1 Ladybug's handle, and ended up with a Halloween special, orange Ladybug, with black serrated hawkbill blade. And a lime green H1 Ladybug (which now rides in my watch pocket every single day).

Knife # 206 - February 2015.
This is the only pic I still have of the original SE USN Ladybug.

This is how they are all configured now.

Next was the EDCF glow-in-the-dark Manix 2 XL. Already having the EDCF Manix 2 and Native 5, this was a nice addition. The Manix 2 XL is one of those designs that turned out to be much more useful and comfortable in the hand than I expected. I like this one a lot.

The EDCF Manix 2 XL isn't made of "moonglow" material, but it's some sort of glow in the dark kyrinite. It doesn't glow as bright or as long as the Moonglow models (Manix 2 first run and Native 5) that were previously released.

It's a pretty nice model, but I don't carry it very often because it is very large in my pocket.

Did you get the Knifeworks CF/S90V version first?

*edit* Knife #172 says yes.

Next was this purple Dragonfly. The Dragonfly is one of my favorite LBKs, so another one is always welcome, and this one matches the purple Delica.

Yeah, that's right about the Moonglow versions glowing brighter. Here's a comparison pic I posted a while ago showing the first run Manix 2 and Native 5, next to the Manix 2 XL a few minutes after being equally charged.

Next was this orange Roadie, which I bought out of curiosity. It was a bit smaller than I imagined. The Roadie is nicely made, but I doubt I would ever choose it over the Ladybug or Jester, unless traveling in Denmark, or if the TSA ever allows these onto planes.

Next was the Resilience, to finally complete my Tenacious family set. This one is just as smooth and solid as the others in the series.

Next was the Kiwi 4. This is a nice slim design that provides capable cutting performance, along with discreet and easy carry. Especially after swapping the clip with a Dragonfly clip.

Knife # 211 - May 2015.
This pic shows the original pocket clip.
