Re: 2014 Spyderco Knife of the Year!!
Given the "limited to those knives who first saw light of day in standard dealer inventories in 2014" restriction, I'll have to go with the "new and improved" versions of the K05 Small Utility.

They are available right now from several dealers for as low as $101.99.HarleyXJGuy wrote:If the Manix was just a little bit easier to actually buy I might have gone with it for the value to 110V ratio.

I like the cf Yojimbo 2 s90v

It's hard to beat the s110v Manix LW, however, for me personally the SB Dragonfly was a dream come true

Thats what I get for not checking. Just assumed they would be all sold out by now.gbelleh wrote:They are available right now from several dealers for as low as $101.99.HarleyXJGuy wrote:If the Manix was just a little bit easier to actually buy I might have gone with it for the value to 110V ratio.
Still going to stick with my original answer due to the rare lock failure on the Manix line.
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.
Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.

Ok...points counted, and according to the Spyderco Forum fans, the title of 2014 Spyderco Knife of the Year is awarded to:
:spyder: Manix 2 lightweight S110V in dark blue FRN. :spyder:
Second place is the Slysz Bowie with the Rubicon a close third. Honorable mention goes to the Yojimbo S90V Knifeworks exclusive.

Can't agree more. That's the knife of the year across several brands if you ask me.
Re: 2014 Spyderco Knife of the Year!!
Inspired photo but wrong conclusion. This "poll" is way too "thin"
Re: 2014 Spyderco Knife of the Year!!
Well let me add to the total for the Manix2 LW S110V. I bought quite a few Spyderco's this past year and it surely gets my vote.
Best...

Re: 2014 Spyderco Knife of the Year!!
Perhaps next year we'll have 2 categories: the first being brand new models released that year for first time (Slysz Bowie, Rubicon) and the second being the best new iteration of an existing model, be it a standard release, sprint or exclusive (Manix 2 S110V, CF Yo2 S90V).

If we're talking brand new models, my vote would go to the Slysz Bowie.

I would say that the S110v LtWt Manix got the most pocket time for me throughout the year - mainly because it is so pocket friendly in the summer time when it carries perfectly within lightweight shorts or track pants.
