Hi- I am New here! This is my "Spyderco Madness"!
Hi Team,
I have been lurking around for a while, so time to introduce myself!
I am originally from Europe but have lived in Southeast Asia for the last 25 years. I love the sea and what comes with that- such as fishing and Scuba diving! Jungle trekking and living on what the jungle can provide me with is something I prefer over spending time in the big cities! Knives are just a part of my tool box and I have been using pocket knives since I was 5 years old (and that was a long, long time ago! :-) ).
The "Spyderco Madness" started in May this year when I bought a Spyderco Karahawk. Been searching for a Karambit which do not close on my fingers and Karahawk seemed to fit the bill. Great utility knife, so I got interested in checking out other Spyderco knives and 7 months later it looks like this:
As you can see:
- I love Yojimbo 2 (in both S90V and S30V steels. Yojimbo 2 is my overall, all time, favorite utility knife) and PM2!
- I use lanyards- but only because when I put my pinky finger in it, it secures the knife so I don't accidentally drop it in the sea!
- Yes, I am "Steel Junkie"- I love CPM S90V & S110V, ZDP-189. And I am very impressed of what Spyderco have done with both VG-10 and S30V- obviously one of the best heat treatments in the market!
I wouldn't say I 'collect' knives, since I actually use all of them. It's just that I am curious in testing different knives for real usage! :-)
"My Spyderco Dreams":
- To one day get my hands on a PM2 in M4 steel!
- To find and secure a couple of Superhawks!
I guess that's it for today. Then I wish the whole Team here a Happy New Year!
Thank you for reading this and Regards,
Boar-gen

I started in May as well! You have quite a few more than me though... I only have 6 as of right now. So many knives, so little money. Anyways, welcome!

Great lineup! Superhawk as a sprint would be ideal for me. I'd buy one in an instant!

Greetings and Welcome to SPYDERVILLE :D You are sure off to a great start building up your Spyder-Arsenal
I've always wondered why they don't offer that Karahawk in Spyderedge
Spyderedged Hawkbills are my favorite companion knife but I like many of Spyderco's different models. With the start you have you will be loved at the Town Hall meetings we have daily :D
Nice to have you aboard. JD :spyder: O

Hi Team!
Holy smoke! That was a warm welcome! I highly appreciate it!
I am at the moment in Malaysia, and passed midnight 26 minutes ago. So we are celebrating the new 2015 now. But I will come back and reply soon.
Thank you!

You've done a good job in your short time, a bachelor I presume? If not, congrats on finding a wife that doesn't look askance at a 3 knife per month spyderco habit!

Nice to have you here, Boar-Gen!
Congrats on your hoard of Spydies too, by the way. :) I'd say you're off to a very good start on your collection. Keep up the good work! The Spydie addiction is costly, but is so darn fun it's often too hard to resist!
