Manix 2 XL - Just Ordered!

#1

Post by MikeWolverine »

Hey All,

My Spyderco Manix 2 XL has been ordered and should arrive Dec. 1st! I'm so stoked I can hardly wait! Oddly, this will actually be my first non-DLC black blade...

Anyone have any good suggestions for useful mods, upgrades, tips, etc? I just want to get the most out of my Manix.

Thanks & Cheers,

I'm selling my Manix2, but I love my Manix2 XL. It feels absolutely great in the hand. The smoothness of the opening and closing is just wonderful. The only upgrade I can imagine is to lubricate and add a lanyard.

Mike,
Hopefully you have a set of torx drivers. Always nice to be able to tweak the pivot screws to your liking. 3 of the 4 Manix's I have had (2 XL's, 2LW's) were a bit happier after a touch up during the break in process. All the locks etc were cleaned right away just to make sure that there was no left over grit or residue from the manufacturing process. In particular it really made a difference on one. I think you will really come to enjoy the big Manix. Just give it some time to smooth out.
Cheers...

Nice!
Don't forget to give us your thoughts on it once it arrives.
It was a toss-up for me between the Manix XL and the Military.

Congrats! It's an awesome knife. In fact, it trumps the Military for hard use! (See test/review below.)

Got 4 Manix (S30V, S110V, Cruwear, carpenter steel) but no XL been wanting one for a while but I always go for another model and now with the milled out liners it should be lighter, need to put it on my must get list. Those pics look awesome.

Now that I'm living in a state with no length restrictions outside of a couple of cities, I think I will definitely need to get one of these.
