Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!

Sorry this is late, everyone! It seems like it always comes down to an overwhelming decision while judging these contests! So many great entries, thanks everyone for your submissions, I really enjoyed judging this week!

The winner for this week is Mad Mac! I really like that the photo reminds of work by Ansel Adams, and the photo has a really unique proportional effect. Instinct is telling me its photoshopped, but I kind of can't tell! :confused: :eek: Regardless, I really like it!



The runner up this week goes to Liquid Cobra! I had to stare at this one for a little bit to see what was a reflection on the blade and what was an actual branch :eek: The branches seem to line up in a way that it almost looks like the reflection is a branch in front the blade and is then continued through the other side, kind of like an optical illusion. Cool shot!

Thank you, Mushroom. Ansel Adams... good heavens. This is a surprise. The only way I can compete with you folks is to use a gimmick of some sort. Here is how I took this picture.

On our property, we have a burned out tree stump six feet tall that has been standing there in the weather about ten years. It was an overcast day and I balanced the Tenacious on the fork of the stump. Later I washed out the saturation in the image to shades of gray and punched up shadows and contrast. Regrettably, the point was outside the frame but the result was unusual and disorienting so I thought I would share it.

It's been another week of great Spydie porn. Remnar perched a Delica against some snow covered moss. Apollo made a big K2 look positively enormous. Abbazaba laid out a Mantra flipper on spent Lotto tickets. Demoncase balanced a highly polished Positron flipper on a table full of Spydies. Spydergirl88 created a pinwheel of brightly colored Ladybugs. Mushroom used shades of gray and a shallow field of focus to single out a Lionspy. Johnnie1801 posed a dark blue Para Military 2 on a snowy forest floor. GoldenSpydie arranged a colorful assortment of Spydies.
