Something interesting happened today.

#1

Post by Rule #9 »

So I have lately been in love with my Native 5 (and for good reason) when I decided to finally try my Sage 3 today. Good golly what a difference! I mean how can a knife feel so perfect? Why did I wait so long? Does anyone else feel this way? This knife feels perfect. The action is so smooth and the lock is rock solid. Just a beautiful piece.

On a side note do Sal and Eric lace all their knives with some sort of addictive substance? I mean seriously I can't stop wanting more. If only my wallet would allow it...

The Sage 3 is pretty amazing. One of the best overall knives I know of in the lineup. I waited way too long avoiding the blue one and waiting for the carbon fiber version.

I have mine in storage right now, though. There have been too many super steel knives coming out lately. I'm sure when I bring it back out, I'll fall in love with it again.

The Sage series is amazing. I had a sage 2 a long time ago and sold it when money was tight. Just got the sage 4 recently and I love it! Can't wait to see what the sage 5 entails :D

FYI. A percentage of sales for the Sage series goes to Alzheimer's research. Thanx to you and your appreciation for the line, the Alzheimer's association in Colorado holds Spyderco in high esteem.

That's awesome, Sal. One more reason to love the Sage series!

And yes, IMHO, the Sage 3 is the best of the lot. Such a wonderful lock design and the Taichung factory knocked the fit and finish out of the park.

I also love the Sage3. Mine is definitely my smoothest Spyderco...it's almost magical how smooth the blade moves on it.

Very nice, absolutely the smoothest folder I own...lovely rendition of the lock, I have one of the Gerbers that piloted the concept in commercial knifes. This is much nicer. I have the Smurfy one!

I agree 100%. My Sage 3 is just simply amazing. It is hard to believe a knife can be so smooth and have such amazing fit and finish. My edge is real thin and the steel seems spot on. Cuts wonderfully and the ergos are terrific. This knife has me really questioning why some Spydies have bearings because non of those Spydies are as smooth as my Sage3.

pfff, pheromones! Stay away from those unless you want to receive some strong but random reaction from others ;)

Think I need a save 3 then I'll have to try find a smurf one though the fancy patterned cc doesn't do it for me :-(

The sage line really seems to be just outstanding. I had a sage one also and it was just as smooth. The guys at work really like my blue 3 and get a kick out of it when I refer to it as "papa smurf". They are not allowed to borrow it unless they refer to it by name haha

Of all my Spydies (and I have many) the Sage 3 is the smoothest opening of them all.
