Poll: would you buy a fully serrated paramilitary 2?
Personally I think it would be great to have a se option in this knife. Curious what everyone else thinks?

No interest here in a SE PM2

Interesting results so far. I didn't expect it to be quite so lopsided. I know most of us own at least one (and often many) pm2's. I thought more folks would welcome the opportunity to add a different configuration to the lineup. Shows what I know. :o

I would buy a couple at the moment of release. Thank you for the thread, Lance!

I'm not a big se guy. Just never seem to need it for my use.
Re: Poll: would you buy a fully serrated paramilitary 2?
I voted no, but I'd buy one if it was H-1.
For s30v, I'd definitely prefer PE, though.

Hi Folks!
I'd definitely grab a SE Para2. Specially in CTS-204P.
It'd be my designated workhorse blade.
The real problem would be to find some respectable Dealer to buy it. :D

Re: Poll: would you buy a fully serrated paramilitary 2?
I don't think I would. I don't often feel the need for serrations, and when I do I have a serrated Delica that I carry as backup. When it's a one knife day, I like it to be PE. The exception is my Pacific Salt which goes solo on the boat. The PM2 is a bit large for a backup (for me at least), so right now I don't see a serrated version fitting well into my life. Then again, I'm always open to new things.

I would get one, but for the sake of Lance, I would hope there would be a useful amount (1") of plain edge near the tip.

SE para 1 has a remarkable plain edge section at rhe tip. Maybe not that long, but still very useful.
Furthermore, I would boy another couple of SE para 2, if a DLC version arises. Does it count for the poll's results?
Lance, thanks once more for keeping alive serrated edges threads. Outdoor uses need them.

No interest at all. Frankly, the only way I'd ever buy any Paramilitary 2 is if it was a Spyderco Forum knife.

Agreed. The original paramilitary had a very well executed serrated edge.josemfuente wrote:SE para 1 has a remarkable plain edge section at rhe tip. Maybe not that long, but still very useful.

I try to keep some interest up around here on serrated blades because I think they are useful edges and I see them losing popularity and some are being discontinued. I'm not a SE fanatic but I do appreciate having the option to buy and use them for the tasks at which they excel. The vast majority of my knives are plain edge but the few serrated knives that I use the most really earn their keep.
Re: Poll: would you buy a fully serrated paramilitary 2?
I'd love one! I'm actually really surprised by the results so far. I thought people would love the idea. I guess I'll have to be on the lookout for a serrated original Paramilitary! :)

I think a serrated PM2 would be a little too big for me but if Spyderco ever made a mini PM2 with a serrated edge I would buy it.

Re: Poll: would you buy a fully serrated paramilitary 2?
Hmm..I voted no as I prefer PE on my PM2's. However, if the poll had asked me if I'd like to see Spyderco make a SE version I would have voted yes. I'm sure there are many people who would love to have one, and would put them to good use. I just wouldn't be buying one personally.
I bought a SE Paramilitary (1) BNIB a few weeks ago, it wasn't for me so I sold it. Although, it may have been the knife itself and not the SE that didn't work for me.

Re: Poll: would you buy a fully serrated paramilitary 2?
I'd like to have one, but you didn't ask about that :) I answered no because I've over-bought on knives and am approaching critical mass, already have 3 PM2's, a PM1, and a Pacific Salt SE that I frequently carry when I may need to do pruning. I discovered a technique of bowing limbs up to a inch or more thick to stress the grain, then cutting with a single slash at a slant -- the PS SE usually lops them right off and is much easier to carry than a saw or loppers. I'm sure an SE PM2 would be just as good at this, probably better because of the thicker handle. Not sure this would work as well right handed, since the serrations would be on the bottom of the blade. I'll have to try it and see. I'd really like an SE PM1 a little better. I think they look cool and am easily impressed by knives that were discoed before I came on the scene :p
