Any thoughts on how the new "Homeland Security" bill will affect knife carry in the United States?

Normally I'd not get involved with an answer on this..but...As a CQC Instructor to many of the agencies involved I'll give you a hint..It won't effect it at all...
it being our ability as a US citizen to carry knives..
Homeland Security isn't about us carrying knives or guns..Really..
Thats not what they were put together for..
nor the bill written..

Be safe..

The "H.S. bill" won't affect it. But watch out for the Department of H.S. the bill creates and for the new body of law it will inspire. Vigilance is required to ensure that increased security doesn't evolve into fascism.

One of the costs of freedom is the acceptance of some amount of risk. If all knives were outlawed and confiscated, the risk of being cut would diminish, which implies that your security would be increased. The loss of one element of personal freedom would be the price. The same reasoning can be applied to guns, cars, telephones, you name it. The people must control the government, or the government will control the people!

I've been waiting for a good spot to make my 100th post. I think this qualifies!

IMO the erosion of our personal liberty is
now in ful swing. The Bush dynasty will be
recorded as the one true killer of what our
constituion afford us. Terroism aside, liberty
is never really free. Fight for it yes..cower
before our new secret police.....bad news.

"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing Government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it."

Abraham Lincoln, excerpted from his first inaugural address, March 4, 1861.

Good quote, mate. One point that I have to
wonder about is why the population isn't more
upset with a president who stole the election
and why no outcry to abolish the electoral
collage that makes our votes meaningless.

George Sr, George W, & Jeb all benifited from
rather unusual elections. Wonder why & who is
supporting them..........

Check out the Heritage Foundation, and other related ultra-right wing orgs. The Bohemian Grove. Many orgs. founded and funded by the Coors family, and their historical and political roots. The political contributions of Enron and Worldcom are surprising (or maybe not) and the tip of a very large iceberg! For some VERY interesting reading do a Google search on "distribution of wealth". The oil and gas lobby. The pharmaceutical lobby. The coal burning power industry lobbyists. The logging lobby. If it's to the benefit of the wealthiest 5% or big business, everyone else and the environment be damned, Bush, et al have their lips firmly planted around the money nipple.

Now I expect I'll be vetted (again) by the MIB.
