New Farid K2
Just arrived this a.m. I must say Cutlery Shoppe are really great to do business with. Very nice people. The K2 itself, I could not be more happier! I was a little concerned over the tight action that some have mentioned. But upon receiving mine, I can sit there all day and do the Spyderco flick with my middle finger. Superb action! And she came dead centered and shaving sharp. A Taichung treasure to be sure! As far as riding in the pocket, I don't see a lot of difference between it and the Military or XL Manix 2. I gotta say, the K2 is an awesome piece. I mean when ya think about it, all titanium, CPM 10V steel, made in Taichung, its an incredible deal @$223 That being said, if your still on the fence about the Spyderco Farid K2 then get off, and pull that trigger lol! Seriously, you will not be disappointed. I've snapped a few pic's that I'll share now. Thanx fellas/gals Btw, these pics were taken straight out of the box. Always amazed at the quality of the Taichung plant/people's work

Lol, its just fantastic. A very clean no non sense type design with great ergos, blade and action. Its a hoss of a knife obviously, but one that's really user friendly :)Laethageal wrote:This is the kind of knife that makes you want to scream:

I'm no photograph, but gotta share this one so you guys don't do the same thing. I was practicing one hand closing:
Gotta say mine is not safe for one hand closing yet due to the size and sticky lock.
Also gotta warn you guys that if you get one of these, you should round off/buff the corners of the flat portion of the spine. When I was testing carving/whittling wood with it and used both hand (left thumb pushing on the flat of the spine for higher push force and keeping control) the spine gave me 2 cut. Since I didn't want to retouch the knife yet, I resigned myself to wearing Dyneema anti-cut gloves. Gonna fix that in the next week.

Ayyy! Man, I hate that happened. But, I have to say my lock works pretty good. Takes a little more pressure than say the Vallotton, but nothing major.Laethageal wrote:I'm no photograph, but gotta share this one so you guys don't do the same thing. I was practicing one hand closing:

Congrat's Mac, another great score for your collection. I hope you won't christen it in the same manner as Laethageal, be careful, lol.
Didn't you mention that you are on Farid's list for a custom version?

The cuts aren't deep enough to really be annoying. Simply a warning to others to watch what you're doing. Since the size is uncommon it's easier to get bitten. I must also add that the K2 is my fastest/smoothest opening knife yet after some break-in.

Re: New Farid K2
Thanx man. But, yeah I'm on it with about 25 other people from BF. The list filled pretty quick lol. It'll be my first custom. Ive said before I like big folders. I'd never heard of Farid before Spyderco came out with this collaboration. I just hope I don't run out of funds :eek:Johnnie1801 wrote:Congrat's Mac, another great score for your collection.
