However, I really need a Phil Wilson custom. I know exactly what I want, just wish he would open his books!
I am definitely going to try and order a B&T from him whenever his books open, I check all the time but I know it will most likely be a long time before he catches up :(

The Temperance 2 for me.
I've never held a more well balanced knife.

I voted Swick, which is one of my favorite EDC knives ever. :) There's obviously no right answer in this poll, but for my uses, the Swick(4 especially) is perfect. It is extremely lightweight, easy to carry, stronger than a folder, but in a compact fixed blade design. It can be carried around the neck on a chain, or paracord, on your belt, or even in your pocket. :) If anyone hasn't tried the Swick yet, do it now!

Your sales pitch is making it pretty tempting Matt :D

Ok you all have my attention now.

Having never seen a Southfork in person what is it about this knife that makes it so good?
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.

Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.

I just haven't seen too much interest in it, which is sad to me because it's such an awesome knife! If you've never had a chance to handle one, give it a try. :) I wasn't sure how much I'd use it when I first got it, but it turned out to be a great EDC knife. I don't really want to make this too much of a sales pitch though ;)

I have to think carrying a Swick 4 in your pocket would hurt once you sat down.

It depends on your pants and pockets, for sure, but it's not a problem for me at all. I can hardly feel it in a pair of regular jeans. :)

Man, I could write a really long answer to that question. :). It has a great blade profile and grind that makes it the right knife for just about any job. Just a very versatile knife. I used mine today cleaning two big Spanish Mackerel, then came in and further cleaned up some of the fillets for freezing. Then the cutting board came out and I used it to chop up tomatoes, potatoes, garlic, etc. for a fish stew. Later I used it to eat my dinner. During all those activities I was using the best knife I own for the job. As I said in another thread, there are probably various knives out there that would have been slightly more suited to each of these tasks individually, but I have not yet seen one that could perform ALL of them with the proficiency that the the Southfork can.

If I am figuring value as price per hour of use then the Southfork is by far the cheapest knife I own! :)

I don't own any so my opinion won't matter much but I really like the Serrata, it's the first fixed Spydie I've really considered buying aside from mules.

Just picked up a bushcraft blank to take a first whack at making my own scales. So now you know. Carry on.

I was going to vote for the Mules because that is one of only two fixed blades I have thought about buying also. Other being the Swick 4.

Did not vote because I do not own any and can't really make a educated answer. Of course the Southfork bandwagon looks like it might be fun to hop on.

Mule + Coyote brown Halpern handle + Sheath from Sheath Pro = Done

Seems like some solid math to me.

I went with 'other' as well. To me, the Temperance 2 is the best jack of all trades.
