..Oh yes: we buy Spydies because of the rapid blade deploiment thanks to the thumb hole, because they have a very usefull clip, because the choiche of steels is very professional...

But, as far as I am cencerned, it's also a matter of design: the first time that I had in my hand my SS plain Endura I remaned fascinated, and this fascination goes on and on also now. Sal, it's not only utility and tactical stuff, it's that when I compare the same kind of folder, for use, lenght and price, Spyderco looks better, really better.

It's design, Sal. Good design.

Yeah, I totally agree with that. There are a lot of other folders out there that are well made and relatively affordable, but Spyderco's designs are what keep me coming back. They're so unique.

With some other companies, I'll like maybe one or two of their designs out of the 20 or so different knives they offer. With Spyderco though, there are only maybe one or two designs that I don't like out of their lineup!

Spyderco also gives us USABLE designs. Not just something that looks good and feels terrible in the hand.

I wholeheartedly agree. Even though I have only been recently initiated into spyderdom, my already high opinion of both the product and the people who produce these fine tools keeps getting better on a daily basis. When I flipped through the catalog, there was not a single piece that I did not find beautiful in form. And although I have only handled two models, the Delica and the Dragonfly so far, both feel very natural in the hand, not to mention the smooth action and cutting power that both display. Overall, what I find most appealing about spyderco's designs aside from their functionality, is that their pieces are beautiful but in an understated way. The lines on each knife are elegant, not fancy, yet when all is said and done, the pieces GET THE JOB DONE. I both respect and admire that. Well that's my opinion anyway; Kudos to Sal and everybody at Spyderco; keep the great designs coming, I've got alot of catching up to do!

After reading rave reviews about the Delica, I decided to buy one for daily use. However, once at the dealer a G-10 Standard also caught my fancy and I was unable to decide between the two. So I bought both.

A customer standing next to me gave assurance that "I couldn't go wrong with a Spyderco--they make the best knives." Nearly three years later and close to 50 knives in my collection (predominantly Spyderco), I still find his words true, true, true! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle>
