I was thinking the same thing.araneae wrote:Also, I hate to rain on the parade, but glow in the dark FRN is is a bit of a unicorn as far as I know. It has never been done to my knowledge.
Why not glow in the dark G10, like the EDCF Manix?araneae wrote:Also, I hate to rain on the parade, but glow in the dark FRN is is a bit of a unicorn as far as I know. It has never been done to my knowledge.
GID FRN "might" not be possible, and the GID materials used on the EDCF Manix were not in fact G-10.GoldenSpydie wrote:Why not glow in the dark G10, like the EDCF Manix?
Forgot to say my favorite steel for this sprint. VG10 to keep price down would be my first choice.

Also, I proposed an FRN sprint, which is how we got here.GoldenSpydie wrote:Why not glow in the dark G10, like the EDCF Manix?

I correct my statement.... apparently companies like RTP are experimenting with a phosphorescent that can last 8 to 10 times longer than current glow powders.malice wrote:Why isn't it possible ?
There exist plenty of glow in the dark and fluorescent Nylons....

Understood, but if the most popular option isn't even an option, it kind of defeats the purpose of the poll.jabba359 wrote:While I certainly wouldn't get my hopes up for this particular Jester sprint to get glow in the dark FRN, my goal with having that option was to show Sal our interest in having Spyderco investigate the possibility of such a material for use in something further down the road.
How so? If they can't do a particular color (whether that be glow, navy blue, orange, etc), then the second most popular one will hopefully be a color they can do. That's why I made the ability to vote for more than one.araneae wrote:Understood, but if the most popular option isn't even an option, it kind of defeats the purpose of the poll.
I agree with Kyle and think that this is a good idea to show popularity of GID, even if it is currently not available. Spyderco always can choose dark green as most popular among available colorsjabba359 wrote:If they can't do a particular color (whether that be glow, navy blue, orange, etc), then the second most popular one will hopefully be a color they can do.
