They are pretty hard to find and the ones selling them want more than the PM2 with cts-204p goes for! :)

I think that was a sprint run or a dealer exclusive. I've seen them on ebay but they generally want a premium for them. One of the general knife forums might be a better place to find one used.

this was distributor exclusive. I believe that there were at least two batches. As for pricewise at this moment I would grab dark green instead. Steel is much more different that regular production S30V. If you care that much for brown scales, probably will be less expensive to get standard para and buy brown scales. Steel is about the same.

Geez. All the dealers that have somehow managed to find a couple of these lately seem to be asking a lot; I think I paid $140 or so whenever the run was first out.

BHQ has 22 in stock at the moment. It was 23 but I just ordered one. $150 seems like a very fair price indeed. Thanks for the heads up.

I read about this a long time ago. It takes quite awhile for them to get into the production que and to get manufactured and shipped.

I got to see both available (green and brown) but waited too long it was too late for the green but I got the brown, I do prefer the brown color but would have preferred the steel from the green. But you can't have it all and actually this one will be my first s35vn but I hear its similar and maybe a little better than 154 but softer than s30v.

I don't recall hearing that S35vn was softer than S30V. I thought they were supposed to be pretty similar in properties. You mean the HRC? I think that depends on heat treat. I could be wrong though. Either way, you and I are both looking forward to the brown para 2

Well don't have experience with it but I will compare it to see what it does, either way VG10 does it for me anything above that is just the cherry on top. I like the brown color I am excited.

There was a thread on blade forums that divided up the various steels into classes. I can't recall the name of the guy who posted it so I can't find it. Anyone?
