Have there been very many? It looks like there was a CF one. I saw what I believe was a sante fe stone works edition too. What about a super blue or zdp version? What has there been and what would you guys like to see?

There were a number of "special" versions of the Police back before the term "Sprint Run" came into use. There were the "embellished" ones - Santa Fe Stoneworks' "Earthling", Gary Blanchard's "Flying Eagle", and David Yellowhorse's "Channel Inlay", the CF version you mentioned, two "Black Ti" versions, one of them for Magnum Research, a short lived titanium version, two short lived aluminum versions, and two short-lived G-10 versions.

I'd really like to see a G10 Police 3 sprint, any steel and colour really, just something different to the production model. Been hankering for one ever since I got my Brown Calypso!

I haven't even tracked down half of the existing variations, and you want more?

Thanks Deacon. The "earthling" I saw was yours in a different thread. It is very cool. Out of this world. :-)

Thanks Yab. A pic is worth a thousand words. I new there were some but not that many.

I should state that I was curious about all police models, not just the original.

The maddening part is that there don't seem to be any records of just how many variations there are. In my picture there are first generation but not PIG marked, what I believe to be a factory black finish but it could be aftermarket, uncoated aluminum, Tufram coated aluminum with and without lanyard hole, ATS-34/Titanium, saber grind/G-10 without liner, flat grind/G-10 single liner, Carbon fiber, a rather beat up old left hand model in ATS-55 and one P3. Steel marks include none (early models weren't marked), G2, GIN-1, ATS-34, ATS-55, and VG-10. The lanyard hole seems to appear and disappear at random. I was trying to get plain and serrated of each steel mark and handle material, but I've only managed a couple of pairs that way.

I think the full size calypso is a great candidate for Sprints, and would love to see un-clad SuperBlue and ZDP verisions.

I bet police in super blue and ZDP would be popular.

These posts are evidence why it worries me that eventually yablanowitz will reign over the I'll see your Spyderco thread and decimate all.
