Also, if anyone is interested, Omaha Knifeworks has the Puuko for $184. Don't need to use a coupon code or anything either I believe.

I have the Ironwood Puukko fixed blade. It's a beautifully made knife, but I haven't really hard used it.

I often still see good deals on these on eBay too.

I had the Ironwood and recently won an auction for the G-10 version. I prefer the look and feel of the G-10 version. I paid about $150 for mine. I haven't used it. It's got great fit and finish. These are being sold at big discounts. Anecdotally this model seems to be one of the least popular.

The ironwood puukko is a very nice looking knife and felt great in-hand. Sadly I am not fond of S30V in a Scandinavian grind and the price was much higher than I was willing to pay. For less than the cost of the ironwood puukko I was able to get a custom puukko at BLADE a few years back.

I have the ironwood puukko and love it. Great for field dressing deer. I don't know how to go about sharpening a scandi yet, but that will have to happen soon.
So many spydies, not enough pockets.

I have both the G10 and Desert Ironwood Puukko versions. Both came very sharp, and cut well for my uses (whittling mostly). Of course I would have preferred that the MSRP was lower, I think that is why they haven't sold faster. I haven't used mine for food prep or cleaning animals, just cutting wood, and the scandi grind has worked well for that.
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

The price seems in line with other s30v fixed blades in the same length. The Benchmade Bushcrafter, for example, has a street price right around there and is also a fixed blade of similar length in s30v. The Spyderco Bushcraft in O-1 is around the same price

The cheaper fixed blades in roughly the same length are all much "lesser" steels like the Condor (1095) or the Mora.

The Ironwood one I have is a masterpiece!

Its handle though looking simple fills the hand better than various finger groove ones.
The blade itself seems like a little too short for the size of its handle but it feels very strong this way.
Last year hunting wasn't successful but this year I will do my best to give it a try on some roe deer-still worry too much about S30V brittleness to split the pelvic bone or ribcage.
This zero grind is wonderful! Right now I am trying to blur those factory grind lines to have it shiny for May roe buck season start :D
