What (1) Spyderco Folder would you want to have?

WHY?

Hey pennypincher!

Right now I guess it would be the Tatanka, big & strong enough for Zombie pest control.
 But if the Zombie Apocalypse waits for a little while to come, it'd definitely be the Farid K2. :D

I think maybe the Ulize or the Szabo. Great penetration through the eye socket so you can scramble the brain.

Although I love my Caly 3.5, I'd probably go with a Native 5. Stout lock, thick blade that can still slice and good grip.

I'm hoping the Shaman will push it to a 3.5 inch blade on the Native platform.

I'd rather have a schempp rock or hossum. But for a folder I guess I'll take my Tuff.

No chance I am betting on a folder (regardless of maker or quality). I would take a Southfork, Serrata, or Warrior. I want long lasting, pointy and rigid. A folder is bringing a knife to a gun fight IMO.

For zombie killing, no doubt about it I'd go with the Vallotton. That knife was built for stabbing zombie skulls. I'd find something else for food prep.

Street Bowie or Enuff with Leaf blade. Concealment isn't really necessary anymore, and a fixed blade trumps a folder in said scenario any day of the week. Ideally, I'd have two blades on me; A Fixed blade Karambit for people, and a fixed straight blade for the undead. But since you said one folder, something with a deep choil so when you start stabbing skulls your hand doesn't end up on the edge. Maybe a Yojimbo2.

I will drill a pivot hole in a stout oak handle and attach this for my "folder"... Not to keen on getting within arms reach of zombies as a general rule. A swinging/folding version of some of these attached to my truck will also be on my list of weekend zombie apocalypse projects.

You said folder, so to stick with that: The Tatanka or Pacific Salt.

When it comes to fixed blades, I'd go with a Modified Whale Rescue where the point has been sharpened for penetration, and/or, Caspian Salt, pointed blade.

South Fork. Then Serrata. Then Bushcraft.

Oh, wait, folder?

I'll take my s90v Manix 2 XL.

But I'd still rather have a fixed blade.

Honestly, if it's a zombie apocalypse, the knife is going to be for general survival/camp use, not for the walking dead. For that I'll be going with something that has a "Live-Dead-Undead" selector switch (http://www.spikestactical.com/lower-mul ... p-566.html).

Because you said folder, Manix XL. Although I'd probably like to have a Warrior on me too.

I've said for years that edge weapon is not the way to go, you want blunt trauma: aluminum baseball bat. Far less likely to injure yourself, break it, or get it stuck in a wall or something. Also takes less skill/precision.

First thread (since the last apocalypse) without a single Super Blue steel reference. :) I'd go with whatever I wouldn't fumble out of my left hand...nearest back lock or BBL. Manix 2 XL, I guess. Somehow I see LC Kid surviving longer than anyone else...just a hunch.

Can't argue with that.
