Hey Sal...What's up with the bodacious?

Hi Sal, last year the Bodacious was present at BLADE. Is there any word on the plans for this knife? I can't remember the details of the knife, but I know i liked it. I think it was slightly like a Manix/Tenacious hybrid and I think it came in to sizes. I believe it had a new lock. Just curious as it has not been mentioned in any of the recent show threads. Is this still in the pipeline?

Haha we JUST GOT many hi def photos and some video of upcoming designs from Spyderco. Their reward? Several concurrent requests for various models that were mentioned in the past but not shown recently. It's definitely better than the opposite (crickets), but I just find it funny I guess.

I'm just hoping this one didn't go to the wayside. After you get to handle a proto and think its a good design, its hard not to hope it makes it to production.

In another thread, Kristi mentioned that Sal and Eric are both out of the country right now for a few weeks, so he might not be on the forum as much as he usually is.

edit: Got ninja'd by Sal :)

The original plan was kind of a "Super Rescue", heavier duty version made with Rodeo clowns in mind, made in Golden, and named after the bull. Then we got side-tracked in another direction. Now we're backon the original plain Jane Rescue pattern with special tecture.

That doesn't seem to be what I was thinking of. It was definitely at blade show last year but what I recollect was much more like a tenacious than a rescue and I feel like it had a unique lock.

that was the side-track model. the texture was shown on a model that has a stop-lock that we thought we might outsource. It was very similar to the byrd "Catbyrd" design. But at this time, we're not moving forward with it.

Bodacious... Brings me back to CA beaches and 80s Ninja Turtles in my childhood!

Its got to have a companion: The Spyderco Shredder! The beach version, Shredder Salt hehe.
