Same here. It's been such a long wait. :/
So long for me too, been since the BHQ Native Chief...long enough, that I bought an FRN knife! ;) :zany
That list of CRK seems a bit bigger buddy ! :winking-tongue
Haha, yes that is true! In terms of Spyderco knives, that Chief was my last one...which kind of shocked me once I realized how long ago that was now. Hence my whining in the other threads about the lack of G10/linered knives being released.

So I blame Spyderco for forcing me to spend waaaaaaaaaaaay more money than I'd like, by venturing out to other brands. :dizzy :grin-smiling-eyes
It is valid feedback. Lots of people prefer G10 & liners.

I appreciate LW models and FRN but the fast and growing transition to rehashed models with swapped steels and ever more FRN is concerning.

I carry a knife with TI, G10 or CF scales 95% of the time...the LW models I pick up hold a more hypothetical space in my collection. Having a powerful cutting tool, in a super or rustproof steel and extremely lightweight package is neat...but in reality that's something I hardly ever require.

I derive a sense of pride from carrying well built tools, and the LW's just don't deliver in the same way in that respect. Surprising and neat, but not something I feel a need to collect...

In all honesty, FRN kept me away from Spyderco for nearly a decade because I thought they only made plastic knives. I feel like this is a pretty common view by many of the uninitiated knife public.
So it goes.

I have to agree. Any time someone at work asks me what I'm carrying, they normally seem to be more interested or impressed by knives with Ti, G10, Micarta, CF scale materials compared to a knife with FRN. Granted any time I show someone the Matriarch, they are instantly impressed and question why I have something like that :cheap-sunglasses

I liked you're entire post, but wanted to comment on myself noticing the same thing multiple times in my own experiences.

Been wanting a “salt” line knife for a while now. I’ve been back and forth over every model seems like 100 times. I’ve also been enjoying my PM2’s a lot lately, but wanted a little more blade length. So I did the only thing that made sense to me and ordered a Caribbean Leaf PE. Should be here next week.

I picked up some rit dye to be ready for it when it arrives. Haven’t decided yet if it’s going to get the frost gray or the graphite. I don’t want it to be completely black, so I’ll probably go with the frost gray first.

Very logical decision Ranger! Post up some pics after you dye it, that is a tough debate on the color. Similar, yet different for sure.

Some 2017 releases I found in stock at those original prices: Baby Horn and Manix back lock. Sold the Baby Horn years ago and regretted it, this will be my 2nd one.

While ordering the SE Z-Cut for my parents, I had to reach 50€ to get free shipping... So I added a Lil'Native :squinting-tongue

Went a bit over the 50€ but eh

Really happy with the Lil'Native, I was expecting the BTE thickness to be too much. It's correct, won't be in a few sharpenings though :squinting-tongue .
That's totally alright for what this is gonna be used !
Really nice execution of the compression lock (backlock wasn't available)

Crucarta PM2 finally showing up today 🕺

I hopped on knife center’s waiting list back before it was released and honestly didn’t care if it took months (and it did). Locked in the old $171 price point so that’s good enough for me.

It’ll be my first PM2
Crucarta: Shaman (x2), Manix 2, Lil Native, Delica, GB2 & PM2
Notable: 52100 and Cruwear Millie. “15v-arta” Shaman. REC Manix. K-carta Endura, P4, Dragonfly and Delica.
Favorites: Shaman, Sage 5 lightweight, Sheeps Caribbean, Manix, Endela and all things Stretch
