Great knife, my first cru-wear, the scales can be a bugger to keep remotely clean if you carry it frequently. I ended up putting micarta scales on mine and put these scales on a Manix that gets pretty much zero pocket time. I love the texture though, I don't know why they don't use it more, one of if not the best G10 textures IMO.

It's certainly good at slaying cardboard boxes, but I'm not sold on the handle yet.

That was my first USA made Spyderco. Got it used on ebay with heavy patina. I'm going to get micarta scales for mine.

Waiting on a s110v manix 2 I also bought on ebay.

I want to try the K05 and struggle with the same availability issue. It was up for consideration when I ordered form KC, but I was already very close to the threshold for the next step up in MVA processing fee, and it was MSRP ($40) so it didn't seem like the right timing.
Based on quite recent customer reviews it has been available for $25, which sounds like a steal. $40 is probably good value as well, but I'm not in a hurry, so I'll wait and see if I can snatch it for less, or just a similar price from a European store.
