Quite possibly my favorite Spyderco at the moment (don't tell my Manixes, though).

On an unfortunate note, I had to return the knife. The knife would click as if it opened properly but you could push the blade closed with minimal pressure. Just one of those things that slipped through QC. Oh well.

Well this actually just arrived in the mail, but I've wanted a Lum Chinese as long as I've been on the forum! Finally got one, so very happy mail call!

The Lum Chinese Folder (especially the medium sized one) is one that looks really good to me. Nice haul.

I think you’ll be very happy with the Chief. The handle is extremely comfortable (for my hands anyway) and I’ve been very happy with the XHP. The performance I’m seeing as far as toughness and edge retention is better than I expected and it’s one of my favorite steels to sharpen.

Spyderco Dragonfly 2 Lightweight S30V Black Blade
Cool! Didn't even know that these come in the combo FRN and S30V.

Practically speaking I have no need at all for a DFly since I have my Chap FRN and am not really into small folders anyway.
But as one who loves Spydercos I can see how very cool this model generally is... I am "afraid" one day I'll have to have one... :smirk

I also thought I don't need one, I have a Chaparral... But when I wanted something small with serrations, I bought a Salt DF2SE.

Totally agree I have two other chiefs already (nice maybe a pow wow) and a chaparral in the XHP and like it a lot. So many good steels and so few hands and little time.

Nice Larry! It's such a cool and unique knife. You'll find it not totally practical for edc, but it works for quite a few things as well. Be careful of that tip brother :bandage :bandage

I did not. It's become a dedicated landscaping knife, though I do take care of it and still carry it from time to time. I figured for what it's used for, it's ok as is.

Yeah my plans for it are in the yard as well, the black should go really well with the orange of the Spyderhawk :winking-tongue
How's the pma11 mule doing for you? I just received the Z-Wear mule yesterday and I hope to put some miles on it soon, but getting to carry a fb is getting harder and harder. :worried

The mule has held up very well! I've used it for about 3 total weeks at work, as well as on a 4 day camping trip earlier this summer. What a great steel! I've got it sharpened down to around 13dps I'm guessing, free hand right off my DMT coarse stone. No issues with chipping or anything, even after using it to baton some kindling and just messing around with feather sticks and what not sitting around the fire.

That knife really opened my eyes to the fixed blade world and I've now got a couple Bradford Guardian's. One of which has actually turned into my favorite user that I own, so I definitely thank you for this Mule in more ways than one!
