I definitely think spyderco should start selling deep carry clips. my delica would get carried twice as much if it sported one

The exact place to put the fold varies a bit from model to model and tip up/down so it is hard to make a perfect one that isn't custom.

Nice clip, shame about the insect ;)

Because the mid-carry hourglass clip works really well for non-discrete models?

Strong point. Made Iconel-625 strong with that imagery of a butterfly on top of a Spydie. The Spydeep Clip™ -- it's time has come.

That's a very good point that I never considered.

Agreed, and the hourglass clips tend to fit right in the palm. It wouldn't always be feasible to have a comfortable grip with either of two clips.

I've swapped that same deep carry benchmade clip on some axis lock folders and it was fun for a while but for me it wasn't worth the comfort trade-off.

I think that if Spyderco team have designed such deep carry clip, it would be highly ergonomic and universal.
It's doable :)

I can see coming up with a deep-carry clip to fit the standard bolts of say the Manix2, Para2 and Military and selling it through SFO.

There are a number of deep to low-ride clips available on other models. Often on the models that are designed to be less "tactical" as accessing a tool with only a nub exposed isn't very easy.

Not everybody likes deep carry but I would absolutely love if an optional deep carry clip was designed that could be bought from SFO. I'd buy several.

I bought 4 deep carry clips from a guy on Bladeforums. They work great and they're not too expensive. I've seen them on eBay too.

I really, really prefer deep carry. I regular snag things on non-deep carry knives at work, and often yank them out of my pocket.

I am a big fan :D If a Spyderco does not come with a wire clip, odds are it is getting replaced. I think the hour glass clip is a great design, and does a great job at securing the knife, I just don't like how much of the knife sticks out.

This thread has been brought up about once every month or two for a long time. Answer is always the same :(

I have a few of STR's clips though.

Spyderco would simply have to locate the screw holes during prototype stage to allow a pre-existing fold to work.

They could have 3 different drop depths (S/M/L) to allow for any unavoidable setup differences.
