Going by memory here, which is always a risk - I believe there were something like 50 of those made on a pre-production or first-production basis when the Manix 2 was introduced.

They still have some in stock on GPK. Only the black coated ones, but still.

The G10 Manix II are now FFG as standard issue for 2014. Many sites haven't updated their pics yet and still use the hollow ground version as their stock image. To make sure, I would email the company or seller first to make sure they have the new 2014 FFG versions. Hope that helps! Cheers, Radioactive :)

You can't trust stock photos. Call your dealer and ask. My hunch is a number (if new) are the FFG version and the others are hollow-ground and potentially 154cm.

Sounds like you have the older HG Manix2 which has been discontinued, but is obviously not out of stock! I would keep this knife and if you absolutely have to have the new FFG version then specify this to the dealer when ordering to prevent this from happening again! There are many that love their Manix2 HG's, of which I am one! :)

I'm not sure which hardware it's supposed to have, but, iirc, others have reported receiving clear hardware... I don't have a new one yet, so no personal experience, but, off the top of my head, I don't recall anyone reporting that they received black hardware... Might just be the prototype photo in the catalog had black??

Just going from memory... Fwiw.

The 2014 model is the one you received and is just now starting to show up at dealers. I believe the new model has full liners and a FFG S30V blade..I know there was a CTS BD30 sprint. I am unsure if original (rare) pre-production were skeletonized or full liner???? Are the liners full or skeletonized?

From the pic you posted in the other thread, you have the new FFG Manix2! Does the clear cage bother you that much? If so, see if you can return .

Actually, half of the pre-production ones were FFG with 154cm.

I ordered a second generation Manix 2. It's FFG with clear hardware. S30V blade and full liners G10.

Some places are listing "second generation".
