Stonewashed Handles - which models?

#1

Post by hunterseeker5 »

I've recently reached the conclusion that part of the reason the Techno is so deliciously comfy in the hand, is that stonewashing the blade and handle left all the little corners and edges (particularly the edges on the inside faces of the handle) smoothed over that little bit.

So my question is simple: which other in-production spyders have these wonderful stonewashed handles and the accompanying comfort?

I can't really think of any others! Most of the other Ti frames are bead blasted and the SS models are usually a satin finish.

A stonewashed SS would look really nice, but is it even possible to have? Pretty sure the SS knives, being pinned construction, are finished after being pinned to blend the steel into the uniform satin finish that hides all the pins. Would they have to tumble the whole knife?

I think you're right Syncharmony, I can't think of any others. That means there should be more :D .

The Southard, Domino, and Dice though have liners on the opposing side. Are those tumbled as well? I would think not, as it'd round the edge that was to mate with the G10/CF and the result would be a minor gap. Is that inner edge nicely rounded over?

I think the Sage 2. I can't remember if the corners are all smooth.
