congratulations on the baby! I never managed to warm up to the Native. to big and bulky for its size imo. The chaparral is ver similar, but much thinner and lighter with a much thinner blade

Thank you so much for all the kind words. Sal, the wife is doing wonderful. And so is my boy. I can't wait to give him his first Spydie. I'm thinking I'll start him off with a Byrd Robin and then we will go from there. I guess it's a little early to really think about it but I'm a proud daddy.

All that aside, I'm about to venture out on the town with my Native. :)

The Native and Manix2 are currently in my edc rotation.
I have the brown KC Native and recently got a serrated one in S30V with a black blade.
This is the first serrated blade that I actually like, it is really great and cuts like nobodies business.
Natives are awesome.

Congrats on your son.
Spend lots of time with him and take lots of pictures cause time flies.
I remember like yesterday when my step son was in diapers and now he is 13 and already 5'11" and 185lbs and my wife and I still call him our little puppy even though little he ain't.
Enjoy every minute bro.

I've been eyeing a Native 5 for a while. My wallet is nervous whenever I do that, especially after the fairly large amount I just dropped on a Mini 14 today. We'll see what happens.

I carried my forum Native CPM@110V yesterday at a Ducks Unlimited banquet. I also really like the C41BK in PE or SE. I had a few worked on a few years ago. :)

I have a plain edge Native in S30V that I'm liking a lot. It's a great compact workhorse, and the only FRN knife I like (so far) for clipless carry. Don't know if I should get the KC Brown in XHP for the awesome brown color and new to me steel, or get a serrated version and use it like I hate it just to watch it shrug it off :D

Military Black G-10 DLC, Byrd Meadowlark 2 G-10, Lil Matriarch, Pacific Salt SE yellow, Endura 4 ffg brown, Native FRN PE, Dragonfly 2 Orange, Ulize, Sharpmaker and UF rods. Also, Cold Steel Voyager XL Clip PE, Kershaw Volt II (on loan), many fixed blades, and a KP strop block.

Congratulations on your new son. Hope momma, and baby are well. Try not to let a day go by, without telling him you love him. Time slips away, life is short, and there are no guarantees of tomorrow.

Tom Krein did the Full Flat grind and the full convex. I personally did the high hollow grind. And, no Tom no longer does regrinds.

Congrats BigHaze :) Like all I trust momma and baby are well :)

I am new to the Native myself. But this XHP version has been in my pocket for the past couple of months :) It's light, feels good in hand, excellent fit & finish, good looking, and very useful :D Enjoy the knife, but it will pale to the enjoyment you get from your new family addition :)

Had to leave a pic ;)

I did the high hollow grind. The others were done by Tom Krein who no longer does regrinds.
