Wanting a Dragonfly-2 in Carbon Fiber

#1

Post by this_is_nascar »

There seems to be a bunch of talk recently about the DF-2. Nothing wrong with that, as it's such a great knife. So great, I'd love to see a version with the CF laminate over the G-10 scales, just like the Chaparral and Sage-1.

Those CF scales on the current DF-2 platform, would make it an even more awesome knife, as far as I'm concerned.

Holland just started a thread about a Ti scaled Dragonfly which got a lot of response and now this. Maybe it is safe to say there is some pent up demand for a more upscale Dragonfly? I passed on the nishijin version because of the clip, deal breaker for me personally, but otherwise that would have been perfect.

I think there has been a CF D-Fly in the past... can't recall which version, though.

Yea, they still have a Nishijin glass fiber with ZDP-189 in stock.

I prefer plypeel if given the choice. Beggers can't be choosers though. :)

I would be happy with a CF DFLY (wire clip) or other colors of G10.

I've been buying a lot of nishijin glass fiber spydies lately (R, crickets, stretches) but wish they would bring back more peelply.
Nishijin looks kind of cheap and is way too slick. Not sure why Spyderco is going so crazy with it. I do like the texture of the domino, one of the few as of late.

How about a hybrid CF (with glow inserts)/ TI scales with Chris Reeves liner lock?

I would love to see the Dragonfly with the Sage 1 CF but I don't see it happening either.

I'm fortunate to have both D'Fly's in CF (PE and SE). Although I like the CF scales, I generally don't carry these due to (1) difficulty of replacing if lost and (2) the standard pocket clip vs. the wire clip. Would be great to see a comeback CF D'fly--in any steel.

Again, that would be an entirely different knife, not a DF.

I have said this many times on this forum. I absolutely want a DF in CF. I really like that new black/blue that is on the Domino. I do not like the Nishijin as it is, well, not to my taste.

I'm more interested in the exact same textured CF that's on the Chaparral and Sage-1 and leaving everything else alone on the DF. That would make a kick-*** knife for me.
