Native5 LWT teaser photo

#1

Post by FCM415 »

I check NK often and saw that they have a photo up and a price for the new N5 LWT S35vn. I'm already knowing... Sprint steels and colors to follow hehe!

They also have a pic of the S110v N5, both may be mock-ups not sure but it gives us an idea esp with the LWT.

Looking forward to them both :)

Nice sleuthing FCM415! Here's said pic:

I am pretty sure the S110V pic is of the CF Native 4, with its smooth CF scales (not peel-ply). At least my N4 looks identical to this...

That is a nice looking knife... are they making a see-though blue one as well? **fingers crossed**

Finally. It's been so long in coming that the excitement wore off long ago. Can't wait to handle one. Looks like a takes a huge clip.

Looks great! Not too big of a fan of the N5, but if this comes out in M4 or M390 or 204p, i wont be able to resist

I know this isn't an official picture, but check out the screw hole placement. Almost looks like it'll have a Military style clip.

That's what it looks like to me Roger. The two lower scres appear to be inline with the pivot / lanyard hole.

Hope thats not how the actual model is... that clip leaves so much of the knife exposed when clipped to the pocket

It's FRCP right? Or FRN... I love Lightweights, and since this is a Golden, CO instead of Seki I can realistically hope for a sprint in something other than Japanese steel just for a change in a LWT. Pivot bushing and all!

Yeah, the S110v may be the N4 pictured. More so since I read a few times that it's peel ply.

Oh yeah, the previous Native LWT had sprints but I wasn't into that knife. I like the swedge FFG on the N5 and assume the pivot bushing will be pure awesome. I'd be happy with the hourglass clip like on the N5 G10 or even the wire clip. If it's Millie style, maybe Sal was feeling retro :D

Am I the only one who was hoping for a revival of the 1 piece FRN handle?

I think I am in the minority, but I much prefer the spearpoint/swedge grind of the FRN native. I did hear there are lock/bushing advances (CQI) with this model, but besides this I'll take my brown FRN CTS-XHP Native over this one all day long.

Yeah, I agree! Much prefer FRN to FRCP! The edges of the handle are not contoured, at least on my Manix2FRCP's. I also like the swedge grind also! Could do different colors in FRN also, like the Delica/Endura models! :(

Probably most significant are the lock improvements.
