This is what my mother taught me: never run with a knife. Or scissors. :D

I find my Millie too big for jogging, both too long and too heavy. I can't forget it's there.

As far as you are running are you bringing water? I don't run with a camelback but when I hike I clip a knife to the shoulder strap on my pack.

I couldn't run with a neck knife.

I don't like to run with much. I struggle mostly with where to put my keys to my truck if I am not running from home. I would prefer to only have my para2 and my MP3 player and nothing else but sometimes I carry water and/or keys. I run with my dog a lot and she has a backpack which comes in handy for the water and keys and her soft bowl.

I still think a stainless delica would be the easiest to carry based on my experience with a similar knife but love my para2 and just have it with me all the time.

I ran today with my super blue delica and left my para2 in my jacket.

Two hours in hot weather, maybe. Otherwise, two hour runs should normally require no water. Read this if that sounds as wrong to you as it did to me a couple of years ago.

I always take my Salt 1 SE with me when I run clipped so it is against my skin at around a 3:30 position and I don't even notice it.

Pacific Salt would be a great choice if you do not mind the size while trying to find your attachment location. Salt 1 would be smaller and slightly lighter. You might want to adjust the tip if you need a very fine point.

I run a lot too. 60-70 mpw, mostly off pavement (so not smooth). Except winter on dreadmill when it is too cold (don't enjoy frostbite).
On my trail runs I always bring a delica 3 or d4, both vg10. Rust is never a problem and I sweat a lot. Carry is IWB if just shorts, sometimes jacket pocket or running vest pocket (ult direction AK or SJ model or salomon). I have also used a Salt I. I got that because I was worried about rust on the delicas. But VG10 holds an edge better. Anyway, the lightweight delicas are perfect running knives - plenty of blade, full handle (unlike d'fly or other subcompacts), weight is negligible, handle is not so long that it is always poking my leg or side. perfect!
I love my PM2s, but they are too long and too heavy for running, except IN a pack.

Thanks for the link I'm gonna check that out. I usually bring water if I run more than 5-6 miles.

Lots of great feedback and ideas to try out! :D

For longer runs I usually wear a pack and tend to have a knife in it, but I like the idea of wearing a knife on my person for easy access.

I'm going for an easy five mile jog now so I'll try the Para 2 clipped to my tights. Got a pre-owned one yesterday and it has fairly smooth G10.

A Swick works great for running. It weighs almost nothing, a g-clip fits almost anywhere, and it deploys effortlessly. I clip it at about 2 o'clock and forget about it.

But since I usually run after dark--and 'economic development' in my state has brought in a lot more transient types with less concern for other people's rights or possessions--I have taken to running with a compact XD in a Snubby Kit Bag from HPG....

Good rec. on the swick with g-clip. I've done that too, basically same carry.

i carry either my salt 1 or pacific salt IWB at about 4 oclock when i run and its never really chaffed me when wearing under armour type underwear under my shorts or not, i knew a guy that carried his knife in a small pouch that acted like a buffer between his skin and his knife when clipped IWB, cant remember what it was made of though. it seemed like it worked good for him

I expected to see at least one "My Momma told me never to run with sharp objects" in this thread ... guess I'm the token smart-aleck this time around. :)
Interesting thread!
I don't run much due to losing a leg to cancer, but if I did, I might use a Salt for it's lightness and resistance to corrosion from sweat.

Because of this thread I decided to try the in waistband on my run. Took the foliage green delica4 frn, and in the waistband I could not even feel it. Definitely making that standard practice now.

Sadly for me, I still carry my Cold Steel American Lawman when running IWB.

I would prefer to carry the Spyderco Tuff but find that it is too heavy on lighter clothing and feel insecure about carrying the Camo Mille since it managed to slide out of my pocket and I nearly lost it. Also, I sweat a lot and I still wish that Spyderco would make an H1 Para or Millie for those of us who sweat like pigs.

Luckily though, after about 1-2 hrs everyday with the lawman, My Spydies get to ride with me for the remainder of the day :D
