J1,J2 steel, different in scratchability?

I noticed a difference in cladding of the type of steel for the Zdp and super blue steels. Is one for cost or is it less scratchable than the other?

Interesting. Boy, J2 sure scratches. That's why I stonewashed my Caly 3 and 3.5 ZDP's.

The ZDP barely scratches, so it makes for a nice effect.

In my experience I didn't notice much difference, they both seemed to scratch very easily.
I like the stonewash you did on you Caly 3.
