Think about this - on my opinion only way for Spyderco to make CPM S30V compete with CTS-XHP and CTS-204P is to ship those american

with this shipments over Pacific I prefer CTS-XHP to any Crucible steel.

I've been very happy with both Carpenters and Crucible.
And Bohler :)

Hi David,
Since this thread has been resurrected, may as well learn something... I'm familiar with the steels from Takefu and Hitachi. What does Aichi produce for Spyderco?

My early-adopted Chaparral came with an S30V blade. My XHP Manix2 and XHP Techno make me wish I'd waited for the XHP Chaparral. S30V is an excellent steel, and its toothiness is great for aggressive cutting, but not all my cutting requires aggression.

EDIT: Stupid me. Got sucked in by a zombie-thread mining troll.
