2014 Catalog Discussion
Looking at the 2014 catalog, the remaining SB sprints, Dfly, Manbug, LB, and Stretch don't seem to be laminated. Thank heavens if I see it right. Look at the pics of the knives, no laminate, and the tang doesnt say 420wifhbiywbvfiewvbwb hehe.
...And the grey seems to be darker on the SB's, what I was originally hoping for before they released the Delica/Endura.

I will be picking up a Firefly, have wanted one ever since I saw the prototype. My only wish is that it was being produced in Taichung.

I am pretty certain those pictures are just photo-shopped and would most likely be laminate as the others were.FCM415 wrote:Looking at the 2014 catalog, the remaining SB sprints, Dfly, Manbug, LB, and Stretch don't seem to be laminated. So many knives, so few pockets... :)

Several in this years catalog are intriguing but the Firefly and Kiwi4 are leading the list right now.
Maybe a black Southard as well, though it's bigger than I carry these days.

The Domino is still pretty new. Spyderco will often list a knife as "new" if it hasn't yet appeared in their normal annual Product Guide (even though it may have already appeared in the Mid Year supplement). Notice that besides the Domino, there are a few others that have already been released and featured in the 2013 Supplement, but are still listed as "new": Szaba black, Hungarian and orange Pingo.eric m. wrote:Have no idea! It's not new.

Best catalog I've seen in about 4 years.
~Love the new Kiwi 4.
~The 4 way clip on the Harpy is most excellent.
~Full flat grind on the Manix 2 along with skeletonized liners is fantastic.
~Love that the Centofante 3 is still there.

That's a good question, IG. I'm guessing that the production goals on other models may have temporarily pushed the Friction Folder to the back burner. I've often wondered that too about other models, such as the Pygmy Warrior and Autonomy.IG-88 wrote:Did I miss something but the Friction Folder was not in the Disco list and I can't find it anymore in the catalogue? Or am I becoming blind? Or did I miss the release somehow?

Like someone said before, I need a Spy DK yesterday. I always EDC either a Pingo or UKPK so I would LOVE a mashup of the two. I might bite for the Kiwi4 since it has a clip and that's all that kept me from buying one earlier. I'm very interested in the Power Lock but I definitely cannot see myself carrying a 5" blade ever. Worker may end up on my list too, more for the legend of it than actually needing one. Great catalog, everyone in Golden really put in a lot of work to make it amazing.
Current carry: Spyderco Squeak or Spyderco Pingo (Back right pocket), Paramilitary 2 Black G10 (front right pocket)
Future wants: Karahawk

Wonder no more about the Pygmy Warrior! If you check out Sal's Casual Bombshell thread, it seems that the Pygmy is due to ship before the end of this year.SpyderNut wrote:That's a good question, IG.
