1a. Leaf shaped plain edge FFG. Endura, Caly series, ect. They are essentially Wharncliffes with a slight belly. I find them perfect for most any job.

1b. Hawkbill serrated. Tasman, Ladybug Hawkbill. The hawkbill is a pull cutting utility design and serrations make it a monster.

I pair an Endura SB or Caly 3.5 with a LBHB H1 on the keychain, and short of butchering a cow I am equipped for any EDC task. I prefer to use the SE for any packaging or plastic if possible

Agree with twinboysdad.

Plain edge for most blade configurations, but serrated for all hawkbills.

Plain edge full flat grind. You can't beat the Caly 3.5.

For edc it doesn't matter. Depends on what you cut on a regular basis! For anything tougher than paper or cardboard i prefer a serrated edge. No sense in dulling the straight edge unnecessarily! so i prefer a 50/50 blade for my edc purposes. My favorite is my stretch combo edge, but i also carry a delica 4, a native frn, and a manix2 black frn at times.

C44 Dyad. Next question.

It all depends on what you're doing and cutting :)

There are times when a jack of all trades can be more useful than a master. I don't know. My suggestion is to buy and carry all three configurations. Makes me happy. :)

Good point.

I like CE's, they are a compromise, but a worthwhile compromise in my opinion. I actually prefer the 2/3rds, 1/3rd CE on the millie. With a blade that length it is enough of both for anything I have ever needed a knife for. I carry all three and don't find that any of the types of edges stop me from what I need to do.

Plain edges dominate the knives I own, with CE and SE tied for second.

I prefer full PE or SE. In fact, I try to carry noe of each every day. One PE with a geometry I can easily use for food prep, and an SE for where I just want to cut through something. i usually carry a hawkbill for the SE but have been enjoying the grey SE leaf UKPK I picked up earlier this year, and right now it's a CTS-XHP Manix 2 in my RFP and the UKPK in my left. I originally got the UKPK for my fiancee as she doesn't like the texture of most G10 (she was okay with the Tenacious which was fairly mild) and the texture, while a bit like G10, feels different. She liked it but after using it for a while feels much more comfortable with a locking knife, so now she carries a byrd Cara Cara Rescue SE and I rotate the UKPK. I am not one to typically worry about the opinions of NKP but I admit, the UKPK is rather effective, inconspicuous, and very easy to use, and since I am used to knowing knives I use reasonably well, the lack of a lock is not a big deal for regular purposes.

PE all the way for me too. I tried to like SE and used them for many years (e.g. Police, Endura, Tenacious, and more) but I never warmed up to them. PE works for well for all my cutting tasks, whereas SE only works well for some of those tasks. So I end up using a PE more.
