Thanks. I know I wouldn't be interested in the Ti version, so other than the steel being used, does one of the others have an advantage or function/feature over the other?

The CF handle scales will show scratches less...in fact I'm quite amazed at how little they show wear at all. Even if you pry with it or drop the knife onto concrete and it impacts a corner of the scale it's VERY hard to tell. I've held the Chaparral 2, and the CF scales are definitely grippier, though the stepped handles of the 3 might be on par. That one costs quite a bit more though.

Speculate the finish!

Now that we know the handle material, lets speculate the finish the scales will receive!

Im guessing they will have some sort of pattern, but i hope they don't and are just plain bronze

Hi Holland!

I do think that plain bronze would be awesome. I'd love to see it that way.

But given the intricate pattern the earlier Chaparral metal models had, I seriously doubt it would be just plain.

Any new word on the status of Chaparral 4. The last two were beautiful but just didn't call my name, especially at their pricepoint. Hoping for something classy out of the 4 but still under $150 street price.

I can easily see a nice glass fiber handle on the Chaparral. I have the CF S30V version in my pocket right now.

No FRN in-the-works. We have 4 different variations, with 3 of them, we're having problems with the material in one way or another. Which ever material gets sorted first will be the next variation.

Thanks Sal, The Chaparral remains my favorite Spyderco. I have the original one and would love to add another some day.

Bronze is one of them. There is also a more natural option coming I believe.
