I thought a carbon fiber scaled version of the N5 with s110v steel was offered for months through a dealer at pre-release price of $205. I assume it is still available.DJ wrote:I,ll be able to get the CF version .......... I
I think a Dfly would have catered to more around here, but seems like forum knives are mostly the big/bold/unique in Spyderco's lineup. I love this. Also, I think the price this one came in at was quite a bargain for what's being shipped.Sithus1966 wrote:Didn't even try and buy one, couldn't afford it. I was hoping for a less expensive knife like a Dragonfly anyway, rather than what was offered.
It's a popular knife, designed and made in Golden, so it has a lot going for it on those fronts. I am personally not a huge fan, but I bought a pair, mostly because S110V from Spyderco at that price is the deal of the year.spyderHS08 wrote:Didn't try....just bummed its another native. and anybody who buys at that price is a fool, considering the fact that the Carbon Fiber version with the same supersteel will retail for less than $200.bdblue wrote:In about 2 days there should be a lot of them for sale on the secondary market, for probably about $300.
Understandable, I know its a good knife but I am just not a fan either. Spyderco has a slew of other unique models that I prefer over it. I'm glad a lot of the forum members are happy with it though. Maybe next year they will do a para 2 or something!JNewell wrote:It's a popular knife, designed and made in Golden, so it has a lot going for it on those fronts. The CF/S110V hasn't shipped yet, and is available for preorder. I am not talking "secondary market" prices - I am talking about an S110V Native that will be available from dealers in the near future for less than $200.Philo Beddoe wrote:Isn't the CF/S110V version a Sprint run? If it is you can bet they will be at least $250 to $300 on the secondary markets..
For some reason I always thought that the Forum knife is more about Forum than about the knife. I would buy almost any knife if it would be the Forum knife.spyderHS08 wrote:Didn't try....just bummed its another native. That's true for many, Roman. For others, it's about the knife. This one was a particularly great offering so it got a lot of attention from both groups.bh49 wrote:For some reason I always thought that the Forum knife is more about Forum than about the knife. My feelings exactly Roman. Heck, I'd have been happy with an FRN UKPK or PM2 in BD-1, and you know how little love I have for those two models.bh49 wrote:For some reason I always thought that the Forum knife is more about Forum than about the knife. And I'm talking about an S110V Native that is going to be a Limited EditionSprint Run)that just like with the Forum knife not everyone will be able to get because they will sell out very quickly and only be available on the secondary markets.CarbonFiberNut wrote:The CF/S110V hasn't shipped yet, and is available for preorder.
