You should check The Deacon's web site, his collection of Kopa's and Kiwi's is awesome, and he has some David Yellowhorse modified one's in there.

This is one of the original David Yellowhorse Hunters that were made by him and sold through Spyderco back in the early 90's:

Here's a scan from an old Cutlery Shoppe catalog that shows the models that were available back then, including a Spyderkey that was an exclusive for them. Kind of small, but interesting...

Thank you for the photo's Deacon. It's hard to believe those ever could have been that reasonable considering the time and level of craftsmanship involved.

Drop dead gorgeous. I never knew David Yellowhorse was associated with Spyderco. Problem is, I'd never want to actually use these knives. They'd become my first ever cabinet queens. Nice pics, Deacon!

Those look great. I've never had a Spyderco done by him.

He did our club knives for many years. Case mini Trappers, and I've sold them all but two.

I've never seen that Spyderkey before. It's not on any of the lists as far as I know. Awesome scan!

That Endura is amazing, FCM415. I can understand your lust for it.

I have a David Yellowhorse Police Model prototype that I got from Steve Garten years and years ago. It has no number and the box in which it came to me is is a simple Spyderco cardboard box. It does have a certificate signed by Eric Hilburn but not by Mr. Glesser. The certificate does say that the knife is one of five prototypes. I showed this knife to Mr. Glesser at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas several years ago and he told me not to accept any less than $1000.00 at that time, as it is irreplaceable. I would like to sell the knife, as it's a safe queen, and I have another Police Model (one of the PIG models) that I carry on occasion.
