Titanium Delica Damascus

#1

Post by Spydesense »

I just ordered a Titanium Delica 4 with the damascus blade. It's actually kinda funny that I'm getting one of these right now since I finally got a Damascus Skyline yesterday after trying to get one for a couple of years now. I an really excited about the Delica! I don't like keeping safe queens (I even lightly use my Fliuted Ti Military), but I'm not sure how much I want to use the damascus blades. They are both laminated I'm pretty sure. What do you guys with any experience with laminated damascus think...how do the blades hold up with general use? Anybody else getting one of these?

I EDC'ed a damascus caly 3 for a while - it's really nothing special, since it's a VG-10 core. It holds an edge well enough but the damascus shell is basically purely for aesthetics.
◊ Manix 2 XL ◊ Manix 2 lightweight blue ◊ Caly 3 carbon fiber ◊ Caly 3 damascus / CF ◊ Lum Chinese Nishijin ◊ Sage 1 ◊ Superleaf
◊ Dragonfly FRN serrated ◊ Endura Gen 1 ◊ Rescue Gen 1 ◊ Endura 4 FFG ◊ Delica 4 half serrated ◊ Mule Team ◊ Spin ◊ Bushcraft UK
◊ S110V Forum Native 5 ◊ Black Nishijin Cricket

Good to know, but I will most likely buy one anyway

my understanding is that spyderco's Damascus isn't real damascus, just a laminated pattern on top of another steel

Really? Kinda like the Sage 1 isn't really carbon fiber. The catalog says "features a core of VG-10 ss flanked on each side by layered Damascus".

"Real Damascus"?... it *is* real damascus, wrapped around a useful core of VG-10...

You guys should read up a tad, before you go starting up a stink about nothing...

Mine should be here tomorrow too... I'm really looking forward to this one! It won't be a heavy user, but I will carry it and use it for light tasks. I actually like the idea of it being a VG-10 core...I think it's a great steel.

Correct it is Damascus wrapped around a vg -10 core you can see the levels.great looking Damascus also.mine is on the way.the calyx 3 Damascus is the bomb with the titanium bulster and cf handle.great knife so is the delica and endura.the delica with the blue is crazy high priced now I don't no why the endura isn't.it also is a great way to do the Damascus sandwich it between other steels.don't be heaters.
