I am a newbe here, this is my first post. Right now I have a Mariner in my pocket and several other Spyderco knives in my gear bag,fly fishing vest ,etc.

But,I will be getting a Police model 50/50 plain/serrated edge tomorrow. I saw the write up on one in the latest issue of The Blue Press and just had to get one.

I had briefly seen a Police model when it first came out years ago but never had the real chance to get one.

Hi, Top Dog, welcome to the forum. The Police is certainly a Sypderco classic. I've never had one but have had the G-10 model on my want-list for a long time. Now I have my eye on the new Police 4 that's coming out this year. It's a little bigger and has G-10 scales and a K390 steel blade.
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

DougC-3,
That G-10 would,at least in my opinion,be the best of the Police Model series. I hope that you can get it soon.

Your name,is that for Douglas C-3 aircraft??? I exited from them while in flight a number of times.

Getting back to Spyderco Knives,I met Sal Glesser at the BLADE Show a number of years ago. Their booth is always PACKED at the show.

You guessed it :) I never exited while in flight, but I managed to ride in them just for transportation a few times in the '60s. I identify with the DC-3 because I'm of a similar vintage and we're both beat up a bit but have a lot of character :D I chose the DougC-3 forum name once when I was in a forum dealing with aircraft and it kind of stuck.

I'm hoping to snag 2 or maybe 3 of the new Spydercos coming out this year. At present I'm thinking of the Lil' Temp 3, Q Ball, D'Allara 3, and the new Police 4.
