Could be the surface finish. Stonewashed, Satin or Bead Blasted all experience corrosion at different rates (on the same steel). It is likely this is the culprit. I noticed my new Manix 2 in Maxamet seems to have a nice stonewashed look. How is (was) the PM2 finish?Mstach07 wrote:I wonder why this is? This is the first I’ve seen such a quick change. I was strongly considering a pm2 or para3 in maxamet until I saw this. At this point in my life I don’t get excited about patinas like others on here.abbazaba wrote:One day of use and the patina is already strong. The Manix2 and Native5 I've been using for months don't have anything like this yet

Salt 2 PE. This is my first nice knife and loving it so far. Lockback which I prefer over the liner and frame locks, H1 steel for lakes and seas, Spyder hole which feels so much better than thumb stubs, and how light it is for the size. My only complaint is wishing the blade was 2.9" instead of 3" for legal reasons. Even though I live in Texas, I do travel frequently to Los Angels and Manhattan for this to matter. Pictured below with other things I carry often.

Easy fix with sandpaper, but NYC don't care if it's 2.9 or 3.gort wrote:Salt 2 PE. This is my first nice knife and loving it so far. I have a 52100, K390, and now Maxamet. The Maxamet is definitely not as prone to patina as the other two. Could be the finish on it.Mstach07 wrote: I wonder why this is?
