This knife takes one of the stickiest edges I can get, every time. I like that factor in my only Para 3.

After going round and round. Once being popular then fading away, I still love me some Spyderco M4.

Hey Peace, I really like those scales too (oiled olive wood), they are actually the reason I got this knife used on the secondary market... So I did NOT make them myself, but the guy I purchased the knife from, and he did a great job.

But I´ve been planning on making scales for my S35VN Tenacious (obviously not the knife in the pic) for some time now and certainly eventually will. The non-nested liners should make this an rather easy job.

The sharpening choil?
Well, regarding that I have to say: I got the knife DESPITE it having that notch - the two things I really, really DIS - like on folders actually are deep carry clips and sharpening choils- the latter do nothing for me, I´d rather have an unsharpened spot on the edge there. So, yeah, it´s more like learning to live with the notch...

It´s also my first folder with a fob attached to the lanyard tube. Came with that, and I´ll keep it for a while, just to see if it has any advantages. So far...NOT, but it also does not bother me... ;)

Hey Peace...

That's definitely one benefit to non-nested liners, should be much more simple to make your own scales. I didn't even realize that has the 8Cr blade, just assumed it was your S35VN model. Looking forward to seeing your scales in the future!

I generally agree with your stance on sharpening choils. Though, in the past, I have tried making one into a single scallop serration and was happy with it.

Most of my knives tend to have fobs, mostly for aesthetics. The only time I find them especially useful is if I want to "wave" the knife open. They give you a better grip and more reliable opening when pulling from the pocket, IME.

I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
