I was cleaning today and reached for this knife to break down some boxes. Enjoyed cutting with it so much I carried it all day. Not sure what finish I gave it last, but it sure is sharp.

Also had a Perrin Bowie strapped to my pack for my night hike I just wrapped up.

I like it a lot. I’ve also got the left and right hand G10 models.

The pivot screws on this Exclusive version didn’t need any adjusting at all. The blade swings shut with just a bit of wrist flick, yet there’s no blade wobble in the pivot.

The carbon fiber has a bit more grippy-ness and the edges of the CF are a little more squared-off compared to my G10 models.

Though all three are extremely sharp the 52100 steel feels more toothy compared to the S30V; like it just wants to slice. Naturally, the SpyderEdge wants to slice even more.

I’m fortunate to live near the SFO. The crew there, Candi, Kyle, Michael, Chappy, Derick, and “Boots” are always great to talk to. Plus, one can handle most every model currently produced.
Thanks for your thoughts on the 52100 CE PM2, Pokey. :)

Yeah, after using this knife for a while, the combination of the model, the steel and the CE edge, seem like a really sophisticated design. Some models just hit that ‘sweet spot’ where all the elements just work outstandingly well as a unified whole.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the CF scales too - they make the knife feel very light and well balanced.

I feel that Spyderco got the texture of that fine file-like checkering on the scales just right.

I don’t really like boxy, squared off edges on knife handles. Normally I would replace them with customised contoured micarta scales, but after hitting the edges of the scales with a bit of sandpaper, I haven’t really felt the need to replace them yet.

A heavier edge chamfer, like the G10 Para 3 has, would have been nice, though.

That’s interesting that the 52100 feels toothier than the S30V model.

I use the brown rods on the PE section at 15dps, and it seems I barely have to touch the knife edge to something and it springs apart!

You’re a lucky man! One day when I visit the US, I’ll make a pilgrimage to to the SFO.

I think the GB2 looks incredible with micarta! Pretty sure I'm gonna get something similar.

Totally agree! I've seen a couple now with micarta and they look amazing. Makes me wish I never sold mine, would have loved to swap scales on it.

That's another great pic in the unique "Rick-industrial-style"! ;)
Especiially like the color-vombination.
I agree! All of your knives look great with the blue and rust backgrounds.
