I had previously only used the big Dexter's. This little guy is extremely thin and works like a charm on rope.

My Autonomy again. I've been spending a lot of time at work, and the Autonomy is my work knife.

Thanks!
That’s my BHQ jade/M4 dealer exclusive. I swapped out the “jade” scales for a set of oem black g10 scales from bladeswelove on eBay and the lanyard tube is blue ti from another seller on eBay. It sports a Lynch clip too. My go-to user para3, when I’m not test driving something new and shiny :D

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
This knife is an absolute GAME CHANGER. I am amazed. Without a doubt, my favorite knife (possibly of ALL TIME) already. I'm running on 2 hours of sleep but I doubt I'll regret those statements. I am overly pleased with the ergonomics, the blade shape, the sheer weight of the model (I am one of those weirdos that appreciate weight for harder use folders). I had high expectations for the Shaman. I expected it to probably meet said expectations, but they have been exceeded. I don't know if tip down or tip down will have better ergos, but tip up is already good enough. This knife, for better or worse, is going to make me sell some knives. My brand new Chief and titanium military are likely gone so I can get more Shamans. I like the thick blade stock combined with the tall grind to preserve cutting ability. Lockup is rock solid. The pivot tightness is perfect, disengage the lock and the blade doesn't move unless you shake it. Action is smooth as expected. This model is definitely more of a tank than I had previously envisioned. Good job Spyderco.

That's awesome Pelagic!
I'm thinking about making the (hopefully) upcoming CPM Cru-Wear/Micarta Shaman my first. Gotta keep saving up.

Yeah, man! Glad you finally got one. I think that you of just about any of the regulars around here needs the Shaman. It is such a great knife. I am super eager for the next sprints and exclusives. The Crucarta variant is driving me a little bonkers with anticipation.Pelagic wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 10:59 amThis knife is an absolute GAME CHANGER. I am amazed. I'll be curious if you end up putting a bigger washer on the non-lock side of the pivot, as i've heard you suggest. I like the idea, but doubt i will actually get around to doing it.
Keep in mind the backlock closing method that we were discussing for when you don't trust a pinch grip (as on a listing boat). I have found myself using that closing method much more lately. Enjoy it and keen to hear reports from the field.
