Decided I'd give it a shot at work after all. This thin blade has me very interested in the slicing ability. Just going to be careful with the scales!

Glad you do, despite hesitating at first as I can recall!

As some might have noticed, I am one of those who advocate for thinner blades and am curious how the Watu will do in your very real life use... hope you´ll share your impressions.

Will do. The more I kept looking at it and playing around with it at home, I decided I was just kind of wasting this great grind as a show piece. Started eating at me haha!

*edit* - after using it for a while, one thing I do wish is that it had some jimping. But, I think that would actually ruin the look of it a bit, it would just be a bit more secure feeling in use. Nothing major, just the scales are a little slick and then no traction at the top for my thumb either.
